Rs.50 Crore has been released to build the Highway from NCR to Jewar Airport

The administration of Gautam Buddha Nagar has obtained an area of 66.73 hectares to construct a link road project from Noida International Greenfield Airport in Jewar to NCR for which Rs.50 Crore is released.

Land acquisition with Rs.260 Crore for Link road project. 

This link road project is from Noida International Greenfield Airport in Jewar with Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport and Haryana. The administration compensated ₹260 crore to the farmers for the land acquisition. 

The airport interchange also cost ₹150 crore, which has been already allocated. The administration will provide an area of 19 hectares with the interchange of the airport boundary and will require an area of 4.42 acres with a budget of Rs.25 Crore. 

Highway will cross 12 different Villages and connect Delhi Mumbai Highway.

According to The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority, the highway will be connected from Noida International Greenfield Airport in Jewar to the Yamuna Expressway and Delhi-Mumbai Expressway. The target of completion is estimated between March and the end of 2024. 

According to the National Highway Authority of India, Nitin Gadkari, the Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, suggested a Jewar with the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway, intending to build an additional road between the airport and overall NCR. 

As per the National Highway Authority of India, the Jewar to Ballabgarh link road will be operational from September 2024. The highway will be beneficial for people travelling from IGI in Jewar and will be not only dependent on the Yamuna Expressway. 

This highway will be planned from sector 65 of Faridabad to Noida International Greenfield Airport. The highway will be of 6 lanes. The highway will cross from Sector 117, 118, 122, 123 and 12 other Villages, including Dayanatpur, Karauli Bangar, Ball Nagar, and Amarpur. 

More details about the Highway

  • As per the reports, the highway will be 75 m Wide and 31 km long, but only 7-8 Km distance will be covered in UP as it also connects to Delhi Mumbai Express Highway. 
  • The highway work has been started from Ballabgarh and Dayanatpur. Uttar Pradesh has released an amount of RS.50 crore for the construction. 

About Airport

The Jewar Airport, named Noida International Greenfield Airport, will be inaugurated in March 2024 as the work rapidly grows. The purpose of this airport will be an alternative to Indira Gandhi International Airport. 

  • Rs 30,000 Crore was declared to build this airport, and it contains four different terminals and six runways, which will be 3,900 metres with the capacity of having 28 aircraft stand. 
  • It will be one of the largest airports in India. 
  • This airport can serve 12 million passengers Annually, and this can increase to 70 million as the passengers will be 100,000 square metres. 

As this highway is starting from Noida International Greenfield Airport in Jewar with Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport and Haryana the main motive will be to reduce the travel time for the people from Jewar to NCR.
